Due to complex stakeholder structures and the heavy use of pen and paper, communication in construction projects is highly inefficient. To provide a solution to this unique challenge, one of Germany’s largest construction companies commissioned a local startup to develop a mobile application prototype.
To cluster the client’s pain points into overarching themes we conducted several interviews with experts along the manufacturing value chain. It quickly became apparent that the best implementation would be a mobile application that would enable stakeholders to add, edit and view just the amount of information they required on a construction site.
Our initial pitch deck took a deep dive into the construction business, tackled the most pressing stakeholder problems and offered a solution and product roadmap.
We created user flows based on the most relevant user stories, sketched and wireframed the corresponding screens and, lastly, created a design prototype for the app.
